Great annual LvBS’s Alumni meeting: Leadership Day and Alumni Awards 2020

Every year, the Lviv Business School of UCU (LvBS) master’s program community gathers at Alumni Leadership Day to share important news, achievements and plans. This year such a meeting will take place on November 21, and we sincerely invite graduates of all master’s programs of different years of study to join it.

On November 21 within #Alumni_Leadership_Day we will talk about leadership during the challenges with:

  • His Beatitude Svyatoslav (Shevchuk) the major archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
  • Volodymyr Fedorin, Editor-in-chief of «Forbes Ukraine», journalist, public person and co-founder of Bendukidze Free Market Center.

The Alumni will have an opportunity to speak openly with His Beatitude Svyatoslav, ask questions of interest during the live dialog as well as to work on a new case from the Center for Leadership of UCU and LvBS, together with its main hero – Volodymyr Fedorin, editor-in-chief of «Forbes Ukraine». It will also be an opportunity to communicate with him personally.

Meeting format: due to security measures, this year’s event will take place online. (This is an additional opportunity to join LvBS graduates from different parts of Ukraine – Dnipro, Kharkiv, Odessa, Rivne, Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lutsk or Uzhgorod, as well as from other countries – the Czech Republic, Great Britain, USA, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, the Netherlands. You will have an opportunity to get together in your cities or small groups and participate jointly in an online event).

Traditionally we will hand out the Alumni Awards LvBS in such nominations:

  • The Business Breakthrough 2020 (bright business breakthrough or industry development)
  • The Supporter 2020 (contribution into UCU/LvBS development: financial support, scholarships, development of University and School projects)
  • The Inspirator 2020 (influence on society, society and social responsibility development)
  • The Ultimate Survivor 2020 (surviving or business reforming during the quarantine)

11:55 – 12:00 The beginning of the event, gathering everyone on the Zoom platform
12:00 – 12:15 Dean-founder of LvBS Sopfia Opatska’s welcome speech.
12:15 – 12:45 Talk with His Beatitude Svyatoslav
12:45 – 13:30 «Forbes Ukraine» case presentation. Speakers: Andrew Rozhdestvensky, Volodymyr Fedorin
13:30 – 14:10 Group work on the case, pilot projects presentations. Conclusions
14:10 – 14:20 Break
14:20 – 14:30 Opening of the Alumni Awards meeting – Yaryna Boychuk, CEO of LvBS.

To participate in the annual LvBS alumni meeting, please register. This event will take place in a closed online format exclusively for graduates of the School’s master’s programs.

The participation fee is UAH 650 *.

(* some part of the funds collected for the event participation will be donated to the charity fund «Come Back Alive» and educational programs which are held together with Center for Leadership of UCU for the army)

We also add the opportunity to purchase a «poised ticket: graduate to graduate». (If you have doubts or cannot attend the event, or if you want to offer a ticket to someone from the graduates who values it).

His Beatitude Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), Head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church. Since March 2011 — The Major Archbishop of Kyiv and Galicia, the Metropolitan of Kyiv, Celebrant of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

After graduating from high school, he studied at Boryslav Medical School and at the same time at the clandestine Greek Catholic Theological Seminary. In 1991-1992 studied at Don Bosco Center for Philosophical and Theological Studies in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He received his doctorate from the St. Thomas Aquinas Pontifical University (Rome, Italy) in the field of theological anthropology and the foundations of moral theology of the Byzantine theological tradition. While studying in Rome, he provided pastoral care to Ukrainian Greek Catholics in Athens.

In 2001 — Rector of Lviv Theological Seminary of the Holy Spirit at UCU. In 2002–2005 —Head of the Secretariat and Personal Secretary of His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar, head of the Patriarchal Curia in Lviv. In 2009, Sviatoslav Shevchuk was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI as assistant-bishop of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin eparchy in Buenos Aires (Argentina).

Volodymyr Fedorin, Editor-in-chief of «Forbes Ukraine»,  journalist, public person and co-founder of Bendukidze Free Market Center.

He was born in Odessa, graduated from M.V. Lomonosov State University of Moscow. He worked as a reporter and editor in the newspapers «Vedomosti», «SmartMoney». During 2008-2010 he held the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of «Forbes» magazine in Russia.

Then, until 2013 – Editor-in-chief of «Forbes Ukraine».  At that time Ukrainian Forbes was a part of big media holding UMH Group under control of Borys Lozhkin. But on August 6, 2013, after the announcement that oligarch Serhii Kurchenko, who was from Yanukovych’s team, had bought UMH, «Forbes Ukraine» wrote articles about frauds, so Volodymyr Fedorin left office before his term ended. As a result, the license was taken away and the magazine stopped its existence.

In 2015 he founded Bendukidze Free Market Center. On March 30, 2020, the return of «Forbes Ukraine» was announced, again headed by Volodymyr Fedorin.
