Paralympians will study with a British professor at UCU Center for Leadership

On Friday, March 3, members of the national paralympic team of Ukraine will participate in “Leadership Character Development” program at the Center for Leadership of the Ukrainian Catholic University. The course will be delivered by Lucas Monzani, professor at University of Plymouth (UK), a university research scholar at Valencia (Spain) and Frankfurt (Germany).

The course for athletes aims at providing the participants with basic knowledge of the leadership concept in modern society, understanding of “Leadership based on character” concept relevant in the world and development of personal leadership character of the participants. The program encompasses case studies that will facilitate tracing how different traits of a leader are manifested in personal and professional life.

In total, 19 athletes will take part in the program, including archery and Greco-Roman wrestling professionals, in particular members of the Ukrainian National paralympic team as well as their coaches.“We believe this training program is only the beginning of close cooperation of UCU Center for Leadership with the Ukrainian athletes and their coaches. One of our unwritten basic rules is to be useful to practitioners: businessmen, military men, athletes, etc., so that the leadership theories would not turn into exclusively bookish concepts separated from practical activities, but create new opportunities for the growth of our society,” – said Andrew Rozhdestvensky, CEO at UCU Center for Leadership.

Lecturer Lucas Monzani, professor at University of Plymouth (UK), a university research scholar at Valencia (Spain) and Frankfurt (Germany). Professor Monzani also closely cooperates with Ian O. Ihnatowycz Institute for Leadership at Ivey Business School. His leadership courses are based on Leadership based on character concept developed by researchers at Ivey Business School and which is focused on 11 leadership traits.
