Intensive Management Transformation Course with Gerard Seijts and Andrew Rozhdestvensky

At the end of May in Kyiv, after two days of intensive learning, thirty managers shook hands with Andrew Rozhdestvensky and Gerard Seijts and received certificates for completing the “Leadership: Intensive Management Transformation” program.

During the program, participants gained a solid theoretical foundation supported by various studies. They explored the model of 11 Leadership Virtues, Competencies, and components of Commitment. Moreover, they examined their roles as leaders and managers from a new perspective, answering the important question, “What kind of Leader am I today?”

However, the main value of the program was not just in addressing a range of complex and comprehensive management issues. Almost all the learning was built around solving case studies of both Ukrainian and international leaders. To the participants’ surprise, all the protagonists of the cases they worked on appeared in the room or joined online to share how they dealt with the described situations.

Why is this important? Because tools and methodologies hold no weight when they remain on paper and are not implemented in real life. And as we know, life does not offer simple tasks with obvious answers. When it comes to Leadership, the concepts of right and wrong cease to be clear-cut.

This is the essence of the case study method. Despite the participants being experienced managers with deep principles and values, each had their own, distinct ideas on how to handle the situations presented in the cases. The presence of the case protagonists in the learning process added confidence that sometimes extremely complex tasks, which seem like plots from good films or books, are solved by ordinary people – just like themselves.

The experience gained from the program undoubtedly broadened and enriched the participants, giving Ukrainian Leadership another push toward development.
